【Parents make “Kataage(肩上げ) to pray for their children’s healthy growth.】

“Kataage(肩上げ)” is put in tucks at the shoulders of a kimono and make the Kimono sleeves shorter.

It means Kimono for children.

Mother pray for her children’s healthy growth and did “Kataage”.

It is also for children can wear Kimono longer. After children grow and taller and bigger, mother take off the “Kataage” and children can still wear the Kimono.
